I want to get Involved with NOBL:

Belknap Native Plant Initiative

  • In fall 2024, we collaborated with neighbors across Belknap to establish a thriving ecosystem of native pollinator habitat!
  • The initiative was designed to enhance biodiversity, support pollinator health, foster environmental stewardship, beautify the neighborhood, build meaningful connections between residents, and educate neighbors about Michigan’s native flora.
  • The program included the installation of 27 native pollinator gardens, installed by residents with the support of the Belknap Beautification Committee.
  • Stay tuned for plans for 2025 which will include a walking tour to view all the gardens!

The Belknap Native Plant Initiative was funded in part thanks to the support from:

Michigan Botanical Society and City of Grand Rapids Neighborhood Match Fund.
